"... ADDED ANOTHER VERSION!!! Without the "data gen" text and arrow and with a smaller cell phone (I'll fix it on the other versions aswell)... The things on the wings (dunno the english word for them) are inspired by images found on the web then vectorized in adobe illustrator (it has been the most time consuming part), everything else is painted except for the text. I hope you'll like it :-) ... The model is my brother :-) ... " - Diane

encode your thoughts

" We are the data generation, and I feel like we should be proud. It has never been so easy to freely exchange ideas. No matter how we choose to do it, we are now able to transform our thoughts, the way we see and understand things, into digital data, and to render this data available for the whole world to see. We can now truly share our experiences. Online art communities like this one allows each and every one of us to express his point of view and get feedback from different people around the globe. Go ahead folks. Encode your thoughts, share your ideas… be part of the data revolution. Now ! " - kemp

Concept: same as entry one ...The concept of this work is to take the name "data.gen" like a file name, also in spanish (my native language =P) "gen" means "genes" so i take a DNA chain and made it of 1 and 0 like a binary code. I tryed to do a mix between genetic and binary code to represent the data.generation... The wallpaper have a clean desing cuz i think is the best way to organize your desktop whit icons and some addons. I put a screenshot of my desk, to see the wallp in action =P..." - ArtificialStd

Data Generation
by Pedro-Pedro

"... what´s the idea? The space is somehow divided into thirds. First and second one contain nothing but plenty of 1s and 0s, which together makes world. But ordinary human can in third part of picture(timeline) find beauty, wisdom, fun, people, colours, whatever. The cold andboring world of computers becomes so very entertaining in third generation.." - Pedro-Pedro

Generation Connection
by KDLIG

"... This is my face... As you can see what I'm trying to convey here is that how today's generation can access easily and connect with someone that fast, from cellphone, Mp3's , USB's, all data are stored in those small portable stuff we have right now, then it leads to our own happiness getting all what we want on those small things. A one big scream of hello can go on and on thru a wireless connection, and spreads to all the other parts of the world, with the help of these portable stuff ..." - KDLIG

Data
by anastasia

"... When i read about the contest, i found it a very interesting subject to concider. At first i tried to reach it with my thoughts. I started to think about the first Apple computer and this huge development in technology in a so short period of time... I was impressed. Then i got in the google and tried to find some pictures with all this stuff, so i can put my thoughts and feelings together. I stood a while in this picture of ''Matrix'' movie i include in additional downloads. I then saw some photos with computers, cellfones, satelites, cameras, barcodes, chips... I felt weird. I realised that we are living in a world full of data. A data generation... I thought about the good and the bad about it. I found the bad stuff more, sorry. I think that they force us to live in a data world. I think that data generation is lonely behind this intelligence. More informations, less feelings. More brains, less hearts. I believe that technology now provides too much data for our own good... I feel that this new world data system is trying to imprison us. A human must have more freedom in life... I think it's everybody's a personal choice...That is my opinion, i hope you guys respect it... " - anastasia

I Am The Data Generation

"... Ok, so what the hell is it?
Well: The giant head represents the future of man. The wires represent communication and thoughts (or just basically what your brain is working on) and on a less abstract level, simply my thoughts on how simple things might be some day. Easier way to plug in to different channels loaded with information and activities, and also into each others' brains creating the easiest way to communicate and exchange, hereby processing the data that's available. The different channels represent the data that you can use for your own pleasure. And finally: Why's he grinning in that creepy way? Well, partly because that's supposed to reflect the greedy need to plunge through endless amount of information and data, and partly because he's tuned into the ice-cream channel.
