Tests -
AC Ryan AluBox easily passed all the CE Tests ComputerBild performed in
the testing - assuring you that AluBox is well-built and protects your
harddisks and data from Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). Surprisingly,
many of the other casings failed the CE / EMI tests, including some known
brand names. For the eSATA category, as much as 4 out of the 8 casings
tested failed the tests. On the magazine cover, ComputerBild exclaims

What is AcrylPanel
Mirror2? What is 2 way mirror? Is it mirror or is it see

has be "re-invented" to 10 bay for drives / devices (3.5"

Customs
/ Pro-modders - Use the BayColumn510™
to build your own custom casings or to replace your casing's drive columns.
For the pro-modders, you can also cut them down to size (8 bays, 5 bays...)
for your projects. They are built from 8mm acrylpanels to be strong enough
to carry the weight of the devices as well as be used as "structural
pillars" in your customs.
Modders
- Since the BayColumn510™
is born out of the AcrylicCasing, you can use them to mod your acrylic
casing into the FullBay Tower style.
The
BayColumn510™
can also be used "au naturel' ("straight-up"). Just install
your bay devices and stand them on your table like a standalone bay tower
(see the pics). Shown in the pic is BayColumn510™
installed with 10 XTOR Tanky. The 8mm acryl carries the weight and is
steady and firm. Not everyone's style, but there's sure no rules against
it.
The
mounting holes have been streamlined to fit both 5.25" & 3.5"
devices. By placing the 2 sides of BayColumn510™
at appropriate distances apart, 5.25" or 3.5" devices can be
mounted. When positioned for 5.25" devices, you can still mount a
mix of 5.25" & 3.5" devices by using standoffs (sold separately)
for the 3.5" devices.
The
BayColumn510™
is designed to be a generic building block. A prefab part that will speed
up your custom projects, leaving you time to do more complex designs.

Did
you know? Diagrams are available for download - free for
use by individuals on non-commercial projects. Use the diagrams for planning
your mods or drilling screw holes. A great way to plan your project is
to make cardboard models using the diagrams.

Ryan Launches XTOR - Xilencer - The Internal Hard Disk Cooler and Silencer
July
2004 - XTOR is AC Ryan's new product line for protecting your
precious data the right way. XTOR - Xilencer is capable of cooling and
silencing your hard disk at the same time. This great product is an effective
solution for the end-users to get their hardware silenced but keeping
their hardware cool.
The XTOR - Xilencer comes with dampening blocks to
totally seal the hard disk enclosure off and to dampen any vibration created
by the hard disk. The Xilencer is mounted in a 5.25" bay and the
screws from the drivebay end up in the dampening mats. This smart and
yet simple way of securing the Xilencer gives you no vibration throughout
your case! This way no sound can be emitted out of the Xilencer.
Not only does the XTOR - Xilencer silence, but it also cools the hard
disk with its great design. The Xilencer is made out of massive aluminum
and as we all know, aluminum dissipates heat very easily. The fins on
this cooler gives the whole enclosure a bigger surface area for air to
absorb the heat generated by the hard disk. This way the enclosure cools
and silences the hard disk and it extends the life of your hard disk as
well!
