--- Notes on using AluBox LAN on Linux ---
This note applies
to the following models:
- ACR-HD50152 AluBox LAN (for IDE)
- ACR-HD51448 AluBox LAN (for SATA2)
- ACR-HD50190 AluBoxDuo LAN (for IDE)
- ACR-HD51769 AluBoxDuo LAN (for SATA2)
The AluBox LAN is built on NDAS technology licensed from Ximeta Inc.
The Linux drivers are in Beta version. Here is the download page for the various
variations of Linux.

Here is a download
guide written based on Red Hat.
http://www.ximeta.com/web/support/guides/netdisk/ndas/linux/index.php
The steps are similar for Ubuntu (or other editions) except make sure you use/download
the Ubuntu (or other editions) drivers instead of the Red Hat drivers.
These drivers are
for using AluBox LAN connected to LAN.
For connecting via USB, no special drivers are needed (use Linux drivers / support
for USB harddisks).
For other models AluBox connecting via USB, 1394, eSATA, use Linux drivers /
support for USB, 1394, SATA.
